It’s the rainy season!! Been raining for the past two days now, this sooo reminds me of home~ haha so who says it doesn’t rain in the desert? On a side note, i guess the peeps here are so used to the dry weather, they forgot about drainage infrastructure. small little ponds are common now. and the dry piece of land outside where i stay, is now a lake. Yes, the size of roughtly two six ten soccerfields.

some undates on me, well, still more or less the same. Found some nice scented arabian oil, smells really nice, using it for quite awhile now. and urm.. and ya, i think i need a haircut~

alrighty, leave you guys with some pics of colder weather..

It’s my third friday here~ how time flies. Well i’ve been limbing a week now. It was getting better the first few days after the tiger balm and the yoko yoko, but it seems to have come to a standstill. ack~

Anyways, heres a little slideshow from my journey home from work~

Photobucket

Oh you see that yellow thinggie? They have loads and i mean LOADS of those buses here. Some of the companies try to hide the fact that their school busses by painting it over with white. Some try to cross it with a permanent marker. But there’s one, and i did not see this, this was told to me by a very reliable source, this one was totally covered with dust. and at the back of the bus, for the vehicles following behind it, was written “PLEASE WASH ME . . .”

Photobucket

Some houses along the way.

This one was taken when were were in the outskitrs of the city. Thats the sun at around 5:30 in the afternoon.

The final one is that just outside the gate to our living compound. This is like the best photo i’ve got, there’s a machine gun in there, with at least one uniformed soilder stationed in the small enclosued air conditioned shed. Man i feel protected… haha

Ever been back home with a PSI of probably 150? That was how it was like over the weekend. Heng the BBQ almost din cancelled!

Having a BBQ here is no easy task.. I din buy the food so I shouldn’t be the one bitching, but then again, I feel their pain~ It’s like they have to go to 4 to 5 stores to get everything we needed. The sauce, the meat, the seafood why don’t they have everything in one place like home? Anyways, it’s been about a week since i got here and i only remember having seafood like twice -_-”. would it hurt for the cook to go get some seafood from the fish market?? It’s really not that expensive.

Kudos to the guys who pulled off the bbq. Mr.B, the 2 Chans, WK n the “local” Mr T. There’s finally a change in the food!

Photobucket

Chan2 preparing the food. Well, we gotta make do with what we’ve got =P

Our flame grill~

I’ll try making satay next time around.

On another note, of all the places, i pulled a muscle here.. When i refused to pack the muscle rub. Talk about karma~ A week of limbing ba..

asalam alaykum

Peace be with you~

It’s been a week since i got here, and still I find myself adapting to the change. It is, least to say, pretty hot over here. We took a measurement of the temperature with and without shade and it’s amazing to see such a difference. 55 without the shade and 49 under the shade. Feels like a sauna here. Still doing mostly paperwork and resolving disputes most of the time though. The first thing that came to mind when i first saw day, ~ Where are all the clouds? ~

Well, today was my first “mini” sand storm. Apparently the winds have changed and are now blowing from Gulf bringing the sand with them. Don’t think the BBQ session later will carry on later, but still, I’m optimistic.

About the food - I did like the food here, but having more or less the same stuff for the entire week would definately change the mood. Some new words I learnt, “mafi mushkila”- No problem and “wahid” - One which i picked up at the airport while trying to decipher what they mean. All in all, life’s pretty routine now, get up, go to work, come back, watch tv then sleep. Maybe things will change come tomorrow. Hmmm~

Been doing a reflection and kindda re-thinking about the reasons I’m here - experience? money? or just to escape and get away? Ah wellz~

Finally, in the past year, I’d say a lot has changed. Sometimes forgetting is just better~

Mafi mushkila, back to work..
